Download the self-extracting WinZip file named CAD Program Files.exe and run it on your computer. Select the "Unzip" command button to extract the program files into the default Program Installation Directory "C:\Program Files\Aleir" on your computer's hard drive.
Download the self-extracting WinZip file named MySQL CAD Data Files.exe and run this self-extracting WinZip file on the computer where you installed the MySQL Server. You will need to extract these files into the "mysql\data\caddata" directory on your MySQL Server. Select the "Unzip" command button to extract the dispatch program's MySQL Server database files.
You will need to configure a new ODBC Connection on each workstation where you will run the dispatch program so it can access and save data to the MySQL Server on your network. Use the below information to setup a new DNS on your computer. You will need to access the control panel in Windows. Depending upon the Operating System you are using (I will assume you are using Windows XP), go to the “Start” button and select “Settings”. Select “Control Panel” from the menu. This will open a window and you need to select the “Administrative Tools” icon. This will open a window containing the Administrative Tools for your machine. You may have to have administrator access to get to this window. If so, contact your network administrator and have them setup the ODBC Connection by following these instructions.
You will need to open the “Data Source (ODBC)” shortcut and “Add” a new ODBC Data Source. When the “ODBC Data Source Administrator” box opens, select the “Add” command button and a window will open named “Create New Data Source.” Scroll down the list until you see “MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver” and highlight (select) this option. After you select this, select the “Finish” command button and a new window will appear named “MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver – DSN Configuration, Version 3.51.06”. You need to put the following values in the boxes available for you.
Select “Test Data Source” to see if the connection is working. If not, check the above values. They have to appear as you see listed above. When you establish a connection, select “OK” and close the dialog box. Next you will need to configure a couple of options so select the "options >>" command button. You will need to check the option "Don't Optimize Column Width" and check the option "Return Matching Rows" in the dialog box. Your options should look like this when you are finished.
The Default user names and passwords to access the dispatch program are the same as the report writing program. The user account names and passwords are listed below.
